It's a busy week here at 6mmACW...in addition to the long overdue return of the Altar of Freedom print edition, we also have a brand new battle report available. The bloodiest day in American history--September 17, 1862--played out as a fantastic, nail-biting game at our gaming club. Photos and a brief video teaser are now posted to the After Action page. Be sure to check it out! In a few days, we'll also be posting a detailed tutorial for how to make 6mm cornfields, which happen to be especially useful at Antietam--home of a field so famous and so bloody that it continues to be known simply as "the cornfield." [UPDATE: The tutorial is now available!] |

Looking forward to the full video. I always enjoy those. Thanks for the cornfield tutorial. I will certainly be putting that to use. Have you tackled the "winter trees" issue yet...lol?

Thanks, Mitch. The winter trees continue to elude me, but I am also working on some other bedeviling terrain issues. Just finished a good method for making lakes/ponds and I'm working on railroads.

Great tutorial on the cornfields. Looking forward to giving Antietam a run out. Incidentally I have produced armies for the Western theatre using the Peter Pig 3mm ACW figures, which give a really big battle effect. Initially looking at Shiloh.

Just caught your comment Andy, I to have been playing AoF with 3mm, but using the Oddial osmy range (Picoarmor or Fighting 15s stock them). The peter pig blocks are easier to paint but for me you get better customisation for the OO range. That said I have also got large forces made up of the Irregular Miniatures 2mm range
