Basically, a series of labeled matchboxes correspond to a gridded map. Players take turns moving their hidden formations in the matchboxes, which allows you to fight a true double blind game with a single table and no referee or GM.
I've uploaded a draft of the rules we use at our club to run these games. The rules are fairly simple, but they explain how to move, spot other units, deploy on the tabletop when contact is made, and potentially "melt" back into the woods if you want your troops to disappear again.
The rules are available now on the Free Downloads page.
