Little Wars TV is doing in depth rule reviews of each set played in their wargame episodes, and as the first system used in the series, Altar of Freedom was the first to be reviewed! It's a fun review, and although I'd argue the "Support" offered here on this website is much more than the reviewers suggested, they had a very good deep dive into the rest of the game. I mean, they couldn't be right about EVERYTHING. You can the watch the full review below, and of course, if you haven't seen the Antietam episode of the series, be sure to check it out!

All in all I agreed with the rating apart from support. I think the terrain tips, the free campaigns, the scenario books, newsletters and so on deserved a much higher score than 5 or 6. I’m not altogether sure that a forum is essential. Other rules I use, eg. Bloody Big Battles, which do have a forum, can lead to posters wanting to change the rules and, in the vast majority of cases, in such a way that it adds additional levels of complexity to a fast-playing, smooth-running set thus slowing the game down and turning it into a grinding slog rather than an enjoyable experience.
