The wait has been long, it is true. But after more than a year of development and play-testing, our first campaign supplement is finally available for download! As you may have heard for the last few months, Gibraltar of the West and all necessary game components are 100% free. The campaign system is fast, fun, and includes some innovative concepts that will allow players to link multiple Altar of Freedom battles through free-ranging map movement. If you'd like a quick introduction to some of the mechanics in this campaign, refer to our January preview. For a photo-filled AAR of the campaign in action, you can now see how one of our Vicksburg operations resolved in the club. And finally, if you simply can't wait to get started on your own campaign, download everything you need now. | |

I was looking for a good scenario to introduce this game and while double blind is my preferred method, this might be perfect for a good introductory day.

Thank you , this is really well done - can I ask what software was used to map this , I have used hexographer in the past?

Will--prepare for your mind to be blown...I made the map in Microsoft Paint. Old school Paint.

This mini-campaign is lovely and a true joy to play! Thank you for all the time and work you put into it. I have one question though. What happens if one of your generals is killed in a battle? Is he gone for the rest of the campaign?

Great question, Matt. The rules for replacing a general are the same as in the core rules--a new general is automatically created with half the PP and no traits. If you need to know the name of this officer, it would typically be the senior division commander from that corps.

Great rules, scenario books, top class website and now a free campaign. Perfect" I'm having fun running Vicksburg via email for my brother and a chum. One query that has popped up is does a division lose any remaining movement when it contacts and brushes aside an opposing picket unit. Similarly what happens to the winner of a minor skirmish is any remaining movement lost?

Andy--minor skirmishes end an attacker's movement. The division occupies the space and that's it. Pickets should be brushed aside and do not stop movement (they have no combat value and can't actually fight in the game).

Dear developer, I loved your initiative, my cousin and I are starting in wargaming, we always play other games like totalwar, but this was the first board game, I as a union had 1 victory and 2 victories as CSA we already played the gettysburg campaign, I hope that we can play more of your campaigns, thanks;)
