Double Blind Rules

A number of players have expressed interest in our double blind rules, as seen in the Glendale and Jonesboro scenario AARs. If you've read those reports, you probably noticed our "matchbox rig," based on a fog of war concept developed by Don Featherstone many years ago.

Basically, a series of labeled matchboxes correspond to a gridded map. Players take turns moving their hidden formations in the matchboxes, which allows you to fight a true double blind game with a single table and no referee or GM.

I've uploaded a draft of the rules we use at our club to run these games. The rules are fairly simple, but they explain how to move, spot other units, deploy on the tabletop when contact is made, and potentially "melt" back into the woods if you want your troops to disappear again.

The rules are available now on the Free Downloads page.

In regard to the "match boxes" used in the double blind system, if you do an online search for "empty matchboxes" you will find that they are used for crafts and are relatively cheap.
