What's Next?
Survey results will be released on July 4th, the day Pemberton surrendered Vicksburg to Grant!
It's been about a month since Gibraltar of the West was released and well over 500 downloads have occurred since that time (edit: closer to 700 by the time I got around to publishing this post). There's been lots of positive feedback from players, including several who have already run multiplayer campaigns of their own. Tony Hawkins of the "Wednesday Warriors" and "Wargame Developments" created an indexed version of the campaign map, so that grid spaces can be individually referenced. You can download his revised map in the links below! And if you haven't downloaded the rules quite yet, get started on your own Vicksburg operation! It's completely free to play. What's Next? Before selecting Vicksburg as the first campaign for our system, I spent time gathering resources and information for about half a dozen possible contenders. Given the enthusiasm for Gibraltar of the West, it's safe to say that another campaign offering will eventually be released. Several are in various stages of design right now, but which campaign most interests you? We want to hear from our players around the world to find out which ACW campaign we should focus on next. Below the break, you can cast your ballot for one of six possible campaigns--three from the eastern theater, and three from the west. Survey results will be released on July 4th, the day Pemberton surrendered Vicksburg to Grant!

When I try to write-in a campaign in the "other" block, it will not me submit. Instead, it highlights the listed campaigns and wants me to choose one of them. FYI - I tried to enter the RED RIVER Campaign..

Sorry about the technical glitch! But I'll chalk you up for Red River--interesting vote. It's probably a bit small for AoF, but I'll look into it. We've had about 50+ votes so far and no one has mentioned the oft-forgetten Red River Campaign.

Thanks for the response. Yea, there are not a lot of divisions, but so many "random events" are possible. The Union fleet on the river with its 10,000 troops from Sherman makes this interesting. Not to mention trying to get three Union columns to act in unison...lol.

Although I voted for Chickamauga, Tullahoma is a fascinating campaign, could there be a series linking the war in Tennessee as we go forward?

How is the Peninsula Campaign not on the voting list?

Good question--it's a great campaign but fought over a fairly small geographic area. Essentially everything is within a days march of everything else, which is a bit less exciting at the map level, where room for some maneuver can be fun. It might still make for a great campaign, though. I have thought about adjusting the map scale a bit, just to make it more playable, because I do love this particular campaign.

Thanks for the follow up, we are getting set to start the Vicksburg Campaign here with my group and since we are based here in Williamsburg, VA the group automatically brought it up so wanted to throw it out there. 6/29/2016 04:57:35 am

How did I miss this - obviously not checking the website enough. I doubt my vote for Atlanta would have made much difference to the overall result, but look what happened with Brexit (my vote made no difference there either, but 6 million didn't even bother to vote!)
